AI for Sales for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for CE: Better Understand Artificial Intelligence in the Sales Function (Part 1)
For this first article in our series on the possibilities of artificial intelligence in the Dynamics 365 CE universe, we start with the offering that has the most maturity and has been an integral part of the ecosystem for some time: sales functions in AI for Sales.
For sales, AI functions are however divided into 3 categories:
- Embedded Intelligence
- Business Insights
- Sales Portal for AI (available in "preview" mode)
This article focuses on the AI features contained in the first of these categories, Embedded Intelligence:
Functions of Embedded Intelligence
The "Embedded Intelligence" category contains the functions of:
1- Relationship Assistant
2- Email Engagement
3- Auto Capture
1. The function of the relationship assistant
Your relationship assistant uses the Azure Cognitive Services suite to analyze all the information available within CRM and Exchange (emails and appointments). This allows it to provide contextual action cards, suggesting actions to take. It acts like a personal assistant, allowing you to not forget critical information or action.

2. The function of email engagement
Email engagement is a function that helps you keep track of your email recipients' interactions with them.
With this function you can:
- Know when a recipient has opened your email, clicked on a link, opened an attachment, or sent you a response. This data can be used to analyze the impact of your emails or take action at the right time
- Trigger an alert when a recipient opens your email to take action quickly.
- Send a delayed email to increase the chances of opening the email. A prospect or customer may be inclined to check their emails at a certain time.
- Create an automatic or manual alert when it's time to follow up on an email.
- Recommendation of an email template based on the analysis of previous sendings.
This function is activated with a simple click, directly from the Dynamics 365 email sending form.
Once the email is sent, you will be able to access the captured information directly from it. You can also use the information for analysis purposes.
3. The function of Auto Capture
Auto Capture presents you with the emails from your mailbox linked to CRM records. Therefore, when you access a contact, an account or a lead, you are able to see the emails related to it. You can then decide whether or not to follow it in the CRM. The owner of the mailbox is the only one to see his emails in the system as long as you have not decided to follow it.
Conclusion
In short, the features of Embedded Intelligence are just the tip of the iceberg of what artificial intelligence that Customer Engagement can offer you. Its tools not only save you time, but also make you more efficient by acting like a personal assistant would. Moreover, these features are included with the sales license, so why not take advantage of them!
